Job summary

L3Harris Technologies is seeking a Senior Specialist, System Safety Engineer in Palm Bay, FL. The role provides technical leadership for safety analyses across Airborne Solutions programs, including hazard analysis, causal analysis, risk assessment, and safety program planning throughout the lifecycle.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate safety requirements into design, development, and verification, prepare safety artifacts in DOORS or Cameo, and present risk

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field and at least 6 years of related experience.
• Graduate degree with at least 4 years of related experience; without a degree, 10 years of experience.
• Strong knowledge of MIL-STD-882E, ARP4754A, ARP4761 is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead hazard analysis, causal analysis, hazard tracking, and safety risk assessment IAW MIL-STD-882E, ARP4754A, and ARP4761
• Develop System Safety Program Plans, Hazard Analyses, and Safety Assessment Reports
• Lead and present safety risk assessments at customer design reviews
• Document System Safety artifacts in DOORS and Cameo
• Coordinate with government customers to ensure safety requirements are verifiable
