Job summary

Legion Technical Solutions is seeking a Senior System Safety Engineer to support an aerospace defense program at our Massachusetts facility. The role focuses on hazard analysis, system safety planning, and MIL-STD-882E compliance, working with multidisciplinary teams and customer representatives.

You will lead safety activities across hardware, software, firmware, and tests, ensuring integrated safety requirements throughout the lifecycle and coordinating with IPTs and government authorities.

Qualifications

• Experience in system safety engineering for complex, regulated programs.
• Knowledge of MIL-STD-882E system safety processes and risk assessment.
• Ability to work across IPTs and communicate with government customers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement System Safety Programs compliant with MIL-STD-882E.
• Perform hazard analyses, design safety analyses, and safety planning.
• Execute MIL-STD-882 activities across Management, Analysis, Evaluation, and Verification.
• Identify hazards and implement design or administrative controls.
• Translate safety requirements for hardware, software, firmware, and tests.
• Interface with customer safety representatives and program authorities.
