Job summary

The University of South Carolina is seeking a procurement professional to manage systemwide duties and ensure compliance with procurement codes across the University system. This role requires collaboration with vendors and internal departments to optimize purchasing processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a job related field is required.
• 3+ years of job related experience required; may be substituted by related certification or training.
• UPPCC CPPO/CPPB certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs systemwide complex duties with procurement of large volume and highly complex information technology and goods and services between the entire University system and vendors.
• Obtains competition in accordance with the SC Consolidated Procurement Code and internal policies.
• Assists and advises the University community on procurement policies and regulations as they relate to acquisitions.
• Issues competitive solicitations to obtain IT and goods and services; assists departments in negotiation and drafting of final contract terms.
• Develops, implements, and maintains a high level customer service program; provides market research and options to improve satisfaction.
• Acts as contract administrator by monitoring contract performance and assisting Purchasing staff with changes.
• Provides expertise by communicating with senior leadership and assisting the Legal Department to avoid litigation.
