Job summary

Google in Mountain View is seeking a Staff System Power Engineer to own power and performance across mobile device subsystems. You will lead optimizations that extend battery life and coordinate with Silicon and Software teams to deliver high-efficiency hardware experiences.

You will collaborate across Android platforms and hardware teams to analyze power consumption, drive improvements, and influence features enabling better device longevity for billions of users.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 6 years of experience with mobile device SoCs and subsystems (CPU, memory, GPU, multimedia, modem, WiFi).
• Experience optimizing software for power and performance improvements.
• Experience with embedded software system design.

Responsibilities

• Drive power optimizations on mobile devices.
• Provide inputs to architecture teams on new device features to improve power.
• Analyze and optimize software across CPU, GPU, memory, display and connectivity.
• Debug and resolve battery drain issues, and develop tools for validating power consumption.
• Collaborate with Android and app teams to optimize power.
