Job summary

CEdge Inc. is seeking a seasoned System Engineer in Washington, DC to lead advanced systems engineering and operations across on‑prem and cloud environments.

You will install, configure, and optimize servers, storage, and networks while providing Tier 3/4 escalation support for complex issues. The role emphasizes federal compliance (NIST/FISMA), STIG baselines, and strong identity and security management with Entra ID, Azure, and Microsoft 365.

Qualifications

• Active Public Trust clearance required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
• 6–8+ years of progressive experience in systems engineering or IT infrastructure roles.
• Hands-on experience with Windows Server, Linux, Azure/M365, Entra ID, VMware, Cisco networking, and federal IT compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform senior-level systems engineering and administration in on‑premises and cloud (Azure/M365) environments.
• Install, configure, maintain, and optimize servers, storage, and networked systems.
• Provide escalation (Tier 3/4) support for complex infrastructure and systems issues.
• Apply NIST security controls and FISMA directives to all supported systems.
• Develop, apply, and maintain STIG configuration baselines for Windows, Linux, and virtualised environments.
• Support identity, cloud, and collaboration services (Entra ID, Microsoft 365).
• Develop and maintain system documentation, SOPs, and disaster recovery strategies; support IT audits.
