Job summary

Hitachi Rail STS USA, INC. in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a Senior System Engineer to lead diverse engineering activities in a fast-paced environment. You will analyze project drawings, determine braking and speed parameters, and map system objects for safe operation.

Required are 10–15 years in safety-related systems, strong document comprehension, and modeling with Python or MATLAB, plus DOORS and Git/RTC for configuration management. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of system engineering experience in safety-related industries.
• Strong ability to read and analyze large sets of technical documents.
• Experience with Python or MATLAB for modeling or simulation.
• Ability to create large SRS, ICDD and SAD documents and trace matrices.
• Familiarity with requirement management and software configuration tools including DOORS and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Analyze drawings and project documents to determine braking, timing and speed parameters.
• Develop system maps for all objects in the ecosystem (signals, tracks, zones).
• Manage configuration control documents throughout the project lifecycle.
• Generate onboard system requirements and manage software/hardware change processes.
• Create large SRS, ICDD, and SAD documents and establish traceability from tests to requirements.
