Job summary

ITAC Solutions is assisting a healthcare services organization in recruiting a Senior Systems Engineer for its Enterprise IT team in the Philadelphia area. The role blends hands-on administration with leadership in infrastructure strategy, standards, and modernization initiatives across a large, complex environment.

Responsibilities include managing Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory, VMware, storage, backup, and cloud services (Azure/Entra ID).

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive experience in systems engineering or related field.
• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, PowerShell, and enterprise identity services.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior-level engineering, administration, and support for enterprise systems infrastructure.
• Administer and support Windows and Linux servers, AD, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, M365, Entra ID, Azure, virtualization, storage, backup, and monitoring platforms.
• Manage and support VMware environments, including vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter, with HA and clustering.
• Support enterprise storage, backup and recovery, DR, and BC capabilities.
• Serve as a third-level escalation point for complex server, identity, virtualization, storage, cloud, security, and performance issues.
• Participate in infrastructure architecture, design, migrations, upgrades, and major initiatives.

Our client is a growing healthcare services organization seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join its Enterprise IT team in the Philadelphia area. This is a high-impact technical leadership opportunity for an experienced infrastructure professional who enjoys staying hands-on while helping guide infrastructure strategy, standards, and modernization initiatives across a complex enterprise environment.

Compensation (Contract to hire)

• $65-70/hr- contract rate
• 140,000 - 150,000/yr once converted

What You'll Be Doing

• Provide senior-level engineering, administration, and support for enterprise systems infrastructure.
• Administer and support Windows and Linux servers, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, certificate services, Microsoft 365, Entra ID, Azure, virtualization, storage, backup, and monitoring platforms.
• Manage and support VMware environments, including vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, high availability, clustering, and virtual infrastructure lifecycle activities.
• Support enterprise storage, SAN/NAS, backup and recovery, replication, disaster recovery, and business continuity capabilities.
• Serve as a third-level escalation point for complex server, identity, virtualization, storage, cloud, security, and performance issues.
• Participate in infrastructure architecture, solution design, system integration, capacity planning, migrations, upgrades, and major technology initiatives.
• Participate in after-hours or on-call support for escalated production issues as needed.

What You'll Need to Be Considered

• 8+ years of progressive experience in systems engineering, enterprise infrastructure, systems administration, or a related technical field.
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, PowerShell, and enterprise identity services.
• Experience with VMware vSphere, ESXi, and vCenter, including high availability and virtual infrastructure management.
• Experience with enterprise storage, SAN/NAS, backup and recovery, replication, disaster recovery, and capacity management.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, hybrid identity, MFA, and Conditional Access.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across servers, storage, virtualization, identity, cloud services, application dependencies, network dependencies, and system performance.
