Job summary

Take2 Consulting LLC seeks a Senior Systems Administrator to provide technical and engineering support across the full system lifecycle in a mission-focused environment. The role covers design, integration, deployment, sustainment, and modernization of complex IT systems and services.

The position is onsite in Suitland, MD, requires an Active Secret Clearance, and involves administering Windows and Linux servers, VMware, AD/DNS/DHCP, and security controls (STIG/NIST).

Qualifications

• 8+ years of enterprise systems administration experience.
• Experience with Windows Server administration and Linux (RHEL/CentOS).
• VMware or similar virtualization platforms experience.
• Active Directory, DNS, DHCP.
• Strong understanding of enterprise networking concepts.
• Automation scripting (PowerShell, Bash).
• Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (NIST 800-53, STIGs, RMF).
• Ability to work in classified / federal environment.
• Familiarity with Red Hat Linux, Trusted Linux, Windows 10, VMware.

Responsibilities

Position Overview

We are seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to provide technical and engineering support across the full system lifecycle. This role supports the design, integration, deployment, sustainment, and modernization of complex IT systems and services in a mission-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and support Windows Server and/or Linux enterprise environments
• Manage VMware or similar virtualization platforms
• Maintain Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy (GPO)
• Support network operations center (NOC) activities and incident response
• Perform system monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning
• Execute patching, upgrades, and system lifecycle management
• Implement and maintain STIG / DISA security compliance controls
• Use tools such as:
• SCCM / PDQ for software deployment
• Splunk / SolarWinds for monitoring
• Ansible / PowerShell / Bash for automation
• Conduct backup, recovery, and disaster recovery operations
• Document system changes and follow strict change management processes
• Support 24x7 high-availability environments with escalation duties

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of systems administration experience (enterprise scale)
• Experience with:
• Windows Server administration
• Linux (RHEL/CentOS commonly preferred)
• VMware or similar virtualization platforms
• Active Directory, DNS, DHCP
• Strong understanding of enterprise networking concepts
• Experience with automation scripting (PowerShell, Bash)
