Job summary

Cape Fox Shared Services is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Administrator to lead design, implementation, and security of our server, network, and cloud infrastructure. You will manage Windows environments, virtualization, storage, and core networking while driving improvements and coordinating with IT leadership.

The role requires strong problem-solving abilities, collaboration across teams, and hands‑on administration of mission‑critical systems in a secure enterprise environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in systems administration or IT infrastructure.
• Experience designing and maintaining Windows Server environments.
• Hands-on experience with virtualization, storage, and core network components.

Responsibilities

• Design, administer, and optimize Windows Server environments, virtualization platforms, storage systems, and core network components.
• Manage on‑premises and cloud infrastructure including VMs, identity services, backups, security configurations, and enterprise applications.
• Oversee firewalls, switches, wireless networks, and VPN systems for secure connectivity across locations.
• Lead patching, updates, monitoring, and performance tuning; provide Tier 3 escalation support.
• Troubleshoot advanced system, network, and integration issues to minimize downtime.
• Implement security practices, including access controls, encryption, logging, monitoring, vulnerability remediation, and system hardening per CMMC/NIST.
• Perform regular health checks, security audits, and risk assessments; remediate gaps.
• Develop scripts, automation tools, and workflows to improve efficiency.
• Create and maintain documentation: configurations, procedures, diagrams, policies, and change records.
• Collaborate with IT leadership and external partners on strategic planning and project implementations.
• Provide advanced technical support and guidance to the broader team.

The Cape Fox Corporation subsidiary Cape Fox Shared Services (CFSS) is seeking an experienced Senior Systems Administrator (SSA). The SSA serves as a technical leader within Cape Fox, responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and maintaining the organization's server, network, and cloud infrastructure. This role provides expert-level support and hands‑on administration across Windows servers, virtualization platforms, firewalls, switches, storage, and enterprise applications. The Senior Systems Administrator ensures the stability, performance, and security of mission‑critical systems while driving infrastructure improvements, leading technical projects, and supporting strategic IT initiatives. This position requires deep technical expertise, strong problem‑solving abilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively with IT leadership and cross‑functional teams to support a high‑performing, secure enterprise environment.

The salary range (or hiring range) for this exempt position has been established at: $120,000- $130,000.

The above salary range represents the company's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. • Manage on‑premises and cloud infrastructure‑including virtual machines, identity services, backups, security configurations, and enterprise applications throughout their full lifecycle.
• Oversee firewalls, switches, wireless networks, and VPN systems to ensure secure and reliable connectivity across all Cape Fox locations.
• Lead patching, updates, monitoring, and performance tuning while providing Tier 3 escalation support for complex incidents and outages.
• Troubleshoot advanced system, network, and integration issues across both on‑premises and cloud environments to minimize operational impact.
• Implement and enforce security best practices, including access controls, encryption, logging, monitoring, vulnerability remediation, and system hardening aligned with CMMC/NIST requirements.
• Conduct regular system health checks, security audits, and risk assessments, documenting findings and remediating gaps proactively.

• Develop scripts, automation tools, and streamlined workflows to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.

• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including configurations, procedures, diagrams, policies, and system change records.
• Collaborate with IT leadership and external partners (vendors, MSPs, MSSPs) on strategic planning, solution evaluations, infrastructure modernization, and technical project implementations.
• Provide advanced technical support for escalated issues, offering guidance and expertise to resolve complex problems and support the broader team.
