Job summary

Dunhill Professional Search & Government Solutions in Mobile, AL seeks a Senior Systems Administrator to manage enterprise Windows and Linux servers, VMware environments, and cloud services supporting government systems on-site. You will lead major changes, automate tasks, and drive incident response while maintaining performance, availability, and security in line with regulatory requirements.

Travel up to 10% is expected; a Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of experience, plus a current Secret

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS or related field.
• 8+ years of systems administration in Windows, Linux or VMware in enterprise or government settings.
• Deep knowledge of Windows Server, Red Hat or equivalents, and VMware vSphere/ESXi.
• Proficiency in scripting, monitoring, patch management, and performance tuning.
• Strong troubleshooting and teamwork, with ability to manage multiple complex efforts.
• Current Secret clearance and DoD IAT-II certification.

Responsibilities

• Administer heterogeneous server platforms and virtualization stacks for highly available workloads.
• Plan and execute OS upgrades, hypervisor updates and configuration refactoring with minimal downtime.
• Design and tune monitoring, logging and alerting across on-premises and cloud environments.
• Use scripting to standardize provisioning, configuration, patching and recurring tasks.
• Implement security hardening, access controls, and backup/recovery procedures.
• Lead high-severity incident response, root-cause analysis and remediation.
• Mentor junior staff and align work with ITIL incident, problem and change processes.
