Sussek Machine Company in Bloomington, MN is seeking a senior Swiss CNC programmer to lead advanced turning for flight-critical aerospace parts. You’ll own the programming journey from NPI and DFM collaboration through cutting strategy optimization and on-the-floor support in a rigorous AS9100/ITAR environment.

Day-to-day you’ll develop, validate, and refine complex Swiss programs, dial in parameters to boost throughput and repeatability, and troubleshoot G-code with setup machinists.

Formación

• 5 to 10+ years of programming CNC Swiss equipment in aerospace or medical device environments.
• AAS in CNC Machining or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Deep knowledge of Swiss-type machinery, advanced GD&T, and multi-axis machining.
• Proficiency with GibbsCAM or Mastercam for complex programs.

Responsabilidades

• Lead programming for Swiss CNC projects from NPI through production on the shop floor.
• Develop, validate, and refine complex Swiss-type CNC programs; optimize cutting parameters.
• Collaborate with setup machinists to troubleshoot G-code and improve toolpaths.
• Uphold AS9100 and ITAR requirements; support FAI/PPAP documentation.
• Lead Lean/Six Sigma efforts to reduce cycle times and scrap.

As the senior specialist, you’ll own the entire programming journey—from NPI and DFM collaboration through cutting strategy optimization and on-the-floor support—in a rigorous AS9100/ITAR environment.

A day in this role

• Early on: Partner with quoting teams to provide DFM insights, create process plans, and establish tooling strategies for new aerospace parts (NPI).
• Mid-morning focus: Develop, validate, and refine complex Swiss-type CNC programs, dialing in cutting parameters to boost throughput and repeatability.
• Afternoon on the floor: Work side-by-side with setup machinists and operators to troubleshoot G-code, resolve machining challenges, and continuously improve toolpaths.
• Quality & tooling, all day: Select cutting tools, trial emerging tooling technologies, uphold AS9100 and ITAR requirements, and support FAI/PPAP documentation.
• Always improving: Lead Lean/Six Sigma efforts targeting shorter cycles and lower scrap while driving standard work and best practices.

What you’ll bring

• Experience: 5 to 10+ years programming CNC Swiss equipment; aerospace or medical device background is strongly preferred.
• Education: AAS in CNC Machining or similar, or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• Technical mastery: Deep knowledge of Swiss-type machinery, advanced GD&T, and complex multi‑axis machining.
• Software: High proficiency with CAD/CAM (GibbsCAM or Mastercam).
• Quality & compliance: Familiarity with AS9100 systems and ITAR requirements.
