Job summary

Nelson Numeric, located in Bloomington, MN, seeks an experienced CNC Swiss Setup Machinist to independently set up multi-axis Swiss machines and produce tight-tolerance aerospace components from exotic alloys. You will manage prove-outs, troubleshoot processes, and support continuous improvement.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, editing G & M codes, performing tool changes, and collecting SPC data while maintaining quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2-year degree in Machining Technology or CNC machining preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently set up, adjust, and operate multi-axis CNC Swiss machines to meet production and quality goals.
• Read, interpret, and edit multi-axis CNC code with live tooling, calculating and adjusting feeds and speeds for exotic alloys.
• Adjust and replace tools, pre-set tooling, and perform daily machine maintenance.
• Collect and input SPC data using comparators, CMMs, Trimos, and precision gauges; maintain inventory counts.
• Assist in process development, participate in pre-production and program prove-outs, and train other operators.

In this role, you will produce tight-tolerance aerospace components from exotic alloys, manage program prove-outs, and troubleshoot machining processes to maintain high standards of quality and efficiency. If you excel at reading complex blueprints, editing G & M codes, and supporting continuous improvement, we want you on our team.Key ResponsibilitiesSetup & Operation: Independently set up, adjust, and operate a variety of multi-axis CNC Swiss machines to meet production and quality goals.Programming & Editing: Read, interpret, and edit multi-axis CNC code with live tooling, calculating and adjusting feeds and speeds for exotic alloys.Tooling & Maintenance: Adjust and replace tools as needed, pre-set tooling, and perform daily machine maintenance.Quality & Inspection: Collect and input SPC data using comparators, CMMs, Trimos, and precision gauges.
