Job summary

JBS USA in Morrilton, AR is seeking an Animal Breeder III to support farm production goals while upholding safety and animal welfare standards. You will assist with breeding, feeding, and daily care of swine, while recording data and maintaining clean facilities.

The role requires hands-on breeding experience, strong teamwork, and the ability to lift and stand for long periods. Overtime and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent experience in a similar production environment.
• Regular and reliable transportation.
• Basic math & computer skills.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to safely lift 50 pounds.
• Attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Advanced sow/gilt care and handling (feeding/watering/moving/ventilation).
• Observe animals in heat to detect estrus and exercise animals to induce or hasten estrus.
• Understand and perform advanced breeding functions (AI, heat check, day-one pig care).
• Record animal characteristics such as weights, growth, and diets.
• Brand, tattoo, or tag animals for identification.
• Prepare semen for storage and use in AI; ensure proper labeling.
• Stock feeds, medicines, and supplies; maintain logs.
• Maintain building temperatures for animal health and safety.
• Adhere to animal welfare and bio-security protocols.
• Attend safety meetings and clean/disinfect facilities.
