Job summary

Jobvite, Inc. seeks a farm technician in Morrilton, AR to assist in meeting production goals while upholding safety and animal welfare protocols. You will handle sow/gilt care, breeding activities, and health monitoring in a regulated farm setting.

The role requires a 4-year degree or equivalent experience, ability to lift 50 pounds, and readiness for shift work, including overtime and weekends. Transportation reliability is essential for this position.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree in related field or equivalent experience in a similar production environment.
• Regular and reliable transportation.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to safely lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to clean and organize work areas.
• Interpersonal skills for working with other employees.
• Continual walking and/or standing, up to 95% of the day.
• Available to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Advanced sow/gilt care and handling (feeding/watering/moving/ventilation).
• Observe animals in heat to detect estrus and exercise animals to induce or hasten estrus.
• Conduct advanced breeding functions (artificial insemination, heat check, day-one pig care).
• Perform necropsy and collection of tissue samples including PUC sampling.
• Treat minor injuries and ailments and coordinate with managers/veterinarians for treatment.
• Stock supplies of feed and medicines and record animal characteristics.
