Job summary

City of Longmont Recreation Services seeks a Swim Lesson Specialist to plan, organize, and supervise the City’s progressive learn-to-swim program. You will coordinate operations, support staff, and promote skills development for participants.

The role involves teaching multiple levels, recruiting and training instructors, and ensuring high-quality aquatic instruction in a safe environment.

Qualifications

• At least three years of experience teaching swim lessons, coaching swim teams, or managing a swim lesson program.
• Experience supervising aquatic staff and ensuring program quality.
• Desirable certifications include Red Cross WSI, Lifeguard, CPR/First Aid.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Longmont Swim School curriculum and staff recruitment, training, and scheduling.
• Organize classes and schedule instructors for all swim lessons and programs.
• Assist with marketing materials and registration information for swim programs.
• Maintain safety procedures and ensure compliance with City policies.
• Develop instructor development pathways and coach staff.
