Job summary

Target is seeking a Sr Designer for Sweaters to lead Owned Brand product design and development with direction from design leaders, shaping the strategy and category execution. You will drive PD&D processes and collaborate across teams to deliver innovative, high-quality designs.

The role requires a four-year design degree and 8+ years in sweaters/knits, with skills in Illustrator and Photoshop, textiles knowledge, and strong market insight. In-office 4 days/week at Downtown Minneapolis campus.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Design, Fine Art, or similar area, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 8+ years of experience in sweaters, knits, wovens.
• Proficiency with Illustrator and Photoshop for design work.
• Deep understanding of textiles, garment construction, and production.
• Strong market knowledge and ability to apply trend information.

Responsibilities

• Drive product research and design to meet merchant objectives.
• Forecast category and guest-segment trends across markets.
• Mentor Associate Designers and enable team collaboration.
• Develop fabrics, prints, trims, and color stories; ensure brand cohesion.
• Collaborate with technical designers and sourcing partners to resolve issues.
