Job summary

Target's Design team in Minneapolis is seeking a Product Designer for Boys Sweaters and Wovens. You will lead design development from concept to final product, translating ideas with CAD and hand sketches, selecting materials, fabrics, finishes, and ensuring brand cohesion across owned brands.

The role requires a four-year degree in Design or related field, 3+ years of experience, proficiency in InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD tools, with knowledge of textiles and garment construction.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in Design, Fine Art or related field or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Computer design system skills including InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
• Experience in CAD illustration or 2D/3D software.
• Knowledge of textiles, garment construction/fit or raw materials & product production.
• Experience assimilating product feedback.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience working in a retail or product development environment.
• Ability to build relationships to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Support and drive product designs to maintain overall creative direction, merchant line plans, assortment strategies, and price points.
• Translate ideas for product direction using CAD/hand sketches.
• Prepare professional presentation boards with illustrations, CAD artwork, fabrication, and material samples.
• Collaborate with merchants and sourcing partners to ensure brand cohesion and continuity.
• Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve product issues with technical designers/engineers.
