RTX is seeking a Sustainment Automation Systems Engineer to lead the sustainment, development and implementation of automation solutions in manufacturing. You will work with robotics, PLCs, HMIs, and vision systems, integrating them with Ignition and business systems in a fast-paced plant environment.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, debugging complex systems, and collaboration with factory teams to maintain production readiness. Travel up to 25% is required.

Formación

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience or 5+ years with an advanced STEM degree in Engineering.
• Ability to obtain Interim Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
• Experience with integrating control systems (actuators, sensors, controls, robotics, and vision systems).
• Experience with PLC and HMI programming (Rockwell preferred).
• Experience programming robots (Fanuc preferred).
• Successful managing and executing medium to complex automation projects.

Responsabilidades

• Provide troubleshooting and debug support for 30+ pieces of custom robotic systems around the factory.
• Provide technical leadership through issue resolution.
• Integrate software (PLCs, robotics, vision system, smart tools, etc) and hardware (sensors, actuators, servos, etc) to create or upgrade solutions.
• Technical liaison between factory, facilities, and leadership for Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM), spares management, and production sustainment execution.
• Support production prove-in of new automation equipment.
• Provide troubleshooting and debug support for production systems.
• Contribute to the overall manufacturing technology strategy for the business.
• Must be willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time.
