Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Sr. Sustainability Specialist within AWS Global Sustainability to embed decarbonization into core business strategy.

You will apply deep expertise in GHG data management and carbon accounting to shape the company’s climate programs. You will partner with infrastructure planning, real estate, energy, and design teams to advance siting and construction decisions, while strengthening the integrity and auditability of AWS's GHG inventory.

Qualifications

Experience in GHG data management and reporting.
Ability to embed carbon accounting into business strategy.
Experience with Scope 1-3 accounting and inventory methodologies.

Responsibilities

Partner with infrastructure planning, real estate, energy, and data center design/engineering teams to integrate carbon considerations into siting, design, and development decisions.
Develop, document, and operationalize new and improved carbon accounting methodologies for operational and embodied emissions across the AWS infrastructure lifecycle.
Own and mature the AWS GHG inventory — improving data quality, calculation methods, emission factors, and boundary definitions — and ensure alignment with evolving reporting standards.
Serve as a subject-matter expert on carbon accounting and GHG inventory methodology within the group and across partner teams.
Measure the carbon impact of current and future infrastructure and sustainability programs, and communicate results to leadership.
Responsible for program delivery, developing metrics, internal and audit-ready reporting, and managing data inputs from multiple teams.
Bring a solutions-oriented mindset, offering creative, rigorous, and defensible approaches to measurement challenges.
