Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, or related field.
• Advanced degree preferred.
• 7+ years of experience in sustainability strategy, program management, or related roles.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian sustainability regulations.
• Proven ability to lead complex initiatives and influence senior stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute sustainability plans for the Canadian market that align with Sysco’s global strategic framework and local regulatory requirements.
• Identify opportunities to integrate sustainability into core business processes and operations.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to advance sustainability objectives.
• Partner with internal teams (merchandising, operations, technology, marketing) to embed sustainability into decision-making.
• Grow the One Planet, One Table sustainable assortment in Canada, partnering with merchandising, technology, marketing, and other cross-functional teams.
• Lead Sysco Canada’s Emerging Supplier Program with an initial focus on Indigenous vendors through the Pathways to Procurement initiative.
• Drive Sysco Canada’s sustainability messaging and stakeholder engagement activities.
• Provide strategic guidance and leadership to support local and national sales teams with sustainability collateral, RFP responses, and targeted strategies for key customers.
