Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Chief Surveyor for the North of Las Vegas, NV area to perform field and office surveying, establishing and updating Government compatible range target databases, and supporting GIS data collection and control surveys.

Minimum five years of Plane and Geodetic Survey experience, proficiency with surveying equipment (total stations, GPS), and skills in AutoCAD and MS Office are required, along with the ability to obtain a Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Five years of Plane and Geodetic Survey experience.
• Experience with field data collection using surveying instruments.
• Working knowledge of surveying equipment including total stations, levels, data collectors, GPS.
• Proficiency in PC, MS Office and AutoCAD.
• Strong written and oral presentation skills and ability to work autonomously.
• Ability to qualify for and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
• Valid state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for collection and maintenance of GIS documentation for Range Target Operations.
• Oversee survey operations ensuring data quality and timely deliverables.
• Develop work products and documentation in line with contract requirements.
• Manage Target Operations database accuracy and updates.
• Assist with Range Clean operations and document updates.
• Follow USAF, DOD instructions and related procedures for range target operations.
• Record field notes with tabular and graphical data per standards.
• Read and interpret engineering plans and perform field surveys from blueprints.
