Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Chief Surveyor for the North of Las Vegas, NV area. You will perform field surveys, establish and maintain GIS data for range target operations, and manage survey data across multiple contract sites.

You will lead survey teams, ensure data quality, and interpret plans for construction, GIS data collection, and as-built records while maintaining strict security clearance requirements and driving continuous safety and process improvements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Five years of plane and geodetic survey experience.
• Experience with electronic survey measuring instruments.
• Ability to operate surveying equipment including total stations, levels, data collectors, and GPS.
• Proficient in PC, MS Office and AutoCAD.
• Strong written and oral presentation skills and ability to work autonomously.
• Must qualify for and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
• Valid state driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for collection and maintenance of GIS documentation for Range Target Operations.
• Oversee survey operations ensuring data quality.
• Develop work products and documentation per contract requirements for target operations.
• Manage Target Operations database for accuracy and updates.
• Assist with Range Clean operations and update databases.
• Follow USAF/DOD instructions and procedures for range target operations.
• Collect range, target and road status data and update databases.
• Take detailed field notes and document data per standards.
• Read and interpret plans and perform field surveys from blueprints and drawings.
• Assist supervisor with deadlines and project planning.
• Potentially train others in comprehensive survey services.
• Perform other position-related duties as assigned.
