Timmons Group in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Survey Technician/Senior Survey Technician to join our Survey Group in the Raleigh office. The role supports land surveying projects by drafting plats, preparing staking maps, and creating topographical surveys and digital terrain models.

Requirements include a Bachelor or Associate degree in Land Surveying or Geospatial fields or at least three years of progressive field experience; experience with GPS and 3D laser scanning is a plus, along with strong

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Associate degree in Land Surveying, Geomatics, Geography, Geospatial Information Sciences or related field or a minimum of three years of progressive survey field experience.
• Experience working with GPS and 3D laser scanning is a plus.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret survey documents and plans.

Responsibilities

• Draft subdivision plats, boundary surveys and easement plats.
• Prepare staking maps for subdivisions, infrastructure improvements and site plans.
• Prepare cutsheets and construction take-offs.
• Draft topographical surveys and create digital terrain models.
• Perform limited courthouse research.
• Submit plats for jurisdictional approval.
• Work closely with the project manager and group leader.
• May substitute in the field when necessary.
