Job summary

Summit in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Survey Technician to perform boundary, topographic, ALTA, and subdivision surveys for public and private clients. You will operate GNSS receivers and robotic total stations, ensuring accuracy in elevations, angles, and distances.

The role requires at least a High School diploma, one year of survey instrument operation, and a valid NC driver's license with a clean driving record. Occasional regional travel may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year of survey instrument operation.
• Valid NC Driver's license with good driving record.
• Practical knowledge of survey methods and procedures.
• Ability to use GPS, RTK, VRS, and robotic total station equipment.
• Detail oriented with good communication skills.
• Able to walk rough terrain, stand long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in various weather.

Responsibilities

• Perform boundary, topographic, ALTA, as-built, easements, and subdivision surveys for public and private clients.
• Operate and maintain surveying instruments – GNSS receivers and robotic total stations – to measure elevations, angles, and distances.
• Clean, check and adjust survey instruments and equipment to ensure the accuracy of measurements.
• Maintain a high standard of accuracy and productivity in all survey work.
• Oversee surveying activities in the absence of the Survey Party Chief.
