Job summary

Bohler in Herndon, VA seeks a Senior Survey Technician to prepare ALTA/ACSM surveys, boundary and topographic surveys, and as-built drawings using AutoCAD Civil 3D. You’ll evaluate field data for accuracy and guide junior technicians while ensuring data is complete and ready for engineering design.

This role involves supervising data flows between field and office, performing deed plotting and base map compilation, and upholding Bohler's standards of precision and quality.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; degree in surveying/engineering is a plus.
• 3+ years CAD experience in land surveying; Civil 3D proficiency required.
• Strong understanding of deed compilation and data verification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed ALTA/ACSM, boundary, topographic, and as-built surveys using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Evaluate and process field crew data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Generate surfaces using 3D polylines and points for integration into engineering design.
• Perform deed plotting, base map compilation, and data verification.
• Conduct construction computations and provide technical oversight to junior staff when needed.
• Deliver and share data seamlessly between field and office teams.
• Identify and communicate technical issues or data discrepancies to leadership.
• Contribute to quality assurance through careful checking and adherence to standards.
