Job summary

TRC Companies, Inc. is seeking a Survey Party Chief to lead a survey crew (1-5 people) in field operations, boundary/topographic, ALTA, GPS, hydrographic and control surveys for large commercial projects. You will perform most work in the field, interpreting plans and ensuring accuracy under time constraints.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, field data collection, and collaboration with project teams to deliver reliable survey results in challenging environments.

Qualifications

• Construction staking and data collection experience.
• Ability to perform basic GPS operations.
• Proficient with Robotic Total Station.
• Familiar with basic computer applications.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills in the field.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the operation and maintenance of survey equipment on site and train others when possible.
• Prepare field sketches/drawings and high-quality field notes per project standards.
• Assemble instruments and measuring devices; run and adjust survey instruments with data collection capabilities.
• Maintain safety, reliability, and logistics of field operations; provide positive client/public relations.
