Job summary

CESO, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Crew Chief II to lead survey crews in Charlotte, NC. You will oversee field operations, mentor staff, and manage data collection from tools like GPS and total stations. The role emphasizes boundary and construction staking with accurate data processing.

Responsibilities include setting up equipment, performing calculations, and ensuring safety and quality standards across road, bridge, and building surveys. Travel to project sites may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of 7 years of field survey related experience/training is required.
• Must have a valid driver's license.
• OSHA 10 Hour Construction and/or Safe Land Certification preferred, or to be obtained upon hire.
• First Aid & CPR certification is preferred.
• NSPS CST Level 4 is preferred.
• Professional Surveyors (PS) licensure is preferred.
• MS Outlook proficiency for email correspondence.
• Windows or Android operating systems knowledge is required.
• Intermediate knowledge of AutoCAD and Civil 3D preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directs/assists daily duties of survey crew as required.
• Mentors junior staff on survey field procedures and CESO standard survey operating procedures.
• Transport and set up instruments and equipment at job sites.
• Operates survey equipment (total stations, GPS, data collectors).
• Performs data gathering from maps, deeds, and records.
• Completes construction, boundary, and topographic surveys.
• Reads maps and stake-out sheets to reproduce surveys.
• Performs survey calculations and data reduction.
• Uses data collectors to perform field-to-finish operations.
• Understand boundary resolution and construction staking.
• Prepare layout calculations for utilities, roads, bridges, and buildings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
