Job summary

CESO is seeking an experienced Crew Chief II to lead and support field surveying teams. You will direct daily crew activities, mentor junior staff, and ensure accurate data collection and construction staking across road, bridge, and building projects.

Applicants should have 7+ years of field survey experience, a valid driver's license, and be proficient with data collection tools. OSHA/CPR credentials are preferred. Local travel and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum of 7 years of field survey related experience/training is required.
• Must have a valid driver-s license.
• OSHA 10 Hour Construction and/or Safe L and Certification preferred, or to be obtained upon hire.
• First Aid & CPR certification is preferred.
• NSPS CST Level 4 is preferred.
• Professional Surveyors (PS) licensure is preferred.
• Proficient in Windows/Android operations; basic MS Office, AutoCAD, Civil 3D experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Directs/assists daily duties of survey crew and mentors junior staff on field procedures.
• Transports and sets up instruments and equipment at project sites.
• Operates survey equipment (total stations, GPS, data collectors, levels, scanners).
• Performs data gathering from maps, deeds, and records for surveys.
• Completes construction, boundary, and topographic surveys.
• Reads plans and stake-out sheets to reproduce surveys; performs calculations.
