Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers in Fort Worth, TX seeks a Senior Survey Technician to provide expert technical and office support for survey projects. You will manage complex tasks, oversee detailed drawings and legal descriptions using AutoCAD Civil 3D, and lead deed research with database development for long-term use.

The role requires 8+ years in surveying, leadership abilities, and strong client collaboration. Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm with overtime; experience with MicroStation is a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree, certificate, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 8+ years of experience in a survey technician or related role.
• Expert-level proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D; MicroStation desirable.
• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
• Exceptional communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams and with clients.
• Strong problem-solving skills and proven ability to resolve complex survey challenges.
• Ability to work Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm with overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Manage complex survey tasks and provide expert-level guidance to all levels of Survey Technicians.
• Oversee the preparation of detailed drawings, exhibits, legal descriptions, and advanced calculations using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Perform quality control reviews and ensure compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
• Lead deed research efforts and abstract complex data for legal and survey purposes.
• Act as a liaison between field crews, project managers, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
• Develop and maintain sophisticated databases of survey data for long-term project use.
• Provide input on process improvements, training initiatives, and technology upgrades.
