Qualifications

• Minimum two years of current acute Operating Room experience.
• Must have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong ability to read and comprehend instructions, memos, and simple correspondence.
• Willingness to participate in training of RNs and other disciplines in scrub role.

Responsibilities

• Direct, check, review, assign, organize, coordinate, train and report on the work of Surgical Technicians; supervise others without hiring/firing authority.
• Coordinate equipment configuration and ensure sterility, cleanliness and functionality before cases; assist with setup and use during procedures.
• Assist with patient positioning, scrubbing, gowning, and donning PPE as required.
• Pass instruments to surgeon, hold retractors, assist with counting sponges, needles, and instruments per policy.
• Participate in patient safety initiatives and room turnover; maintain sterile field and equipment.
