Job summary

Kaiser Permanente seeks an experienced Surgical Technician to support the operating room team before, during, and after procedures. The role involves instrument handling, scrubbing, patient positioning, and assisting surgeons to ensure smooth cases.

Senior technicians may supervise others, coordinate equipment, and help train RNs and staff. Requires BLS and 2+ years of acute OR experience within a hospital setting.

Qualifications

• Two years of current acute Operating Room experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic Life Support certification required.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and direct one or more Surgical Technicians; coordinate work and training.
• Configure and arrange equipment and supplies for procedures; ensure sterility and functionality.
• Assist with patient positioning, scrubbing, gowning and gloving as directed by the surgeon.
• Pass instruments, hold retractors and assist during operations per hospital policy.
• Support patient safety initiatives and aid in room turnover and equipment cleaning.
• Assist in training RNs and other staff in scrub roles as needed.
• Assemble case carts and prepare supplies for procedures.
• Perform other related duties as required.
