Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health seeks a Surgical Technologist II to support procedures across service lines and assist the CAP Care Coordinator and RN/Surgical Coordinator. You will manage instrumentation, maintain records, and ensure proper sterilization and handling of instruments per policy.

Requires 2+ years as a surgical technologist, two-service proficiency, and strong communication. HIPAA and OR policies apply; team integration and education are emphasized.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
• Minimum of 2+ years of experience as a surgical technologist.
• Proficient in two services (e.g., Neurology, Urology, Ortho) and precept experience in one.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.

Responsibilities

• Assists Level III RN coordinator/Surgical Coordinator and/or educator with inventory and instrumentation.
• Oversees orientation for new ST I team members and precepts them.
• Maintains instrument handling, sterilization, and proper disposal per policy.
• Maintains proficiency checklist and scrubs when rotated through specialty areas.
• Communicates with patients and families, considering age, culture, and literacy.
