Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking a Lead Surgical Tech to mentor new surgical techs and support complex procedures in the operating room. You will focus on instrument readiness, equipment handling, and collaboration with the surgical team throughout the intra-operative phase.

The role requires strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to stay calm under pressure while maintaining patient safety and aseptic technique in line with AORN and AST guidelines.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Completion of a Surgical Tech program with certification.
• CPR (BLS) certification required.
• Strong communication, computer skills and the ability to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Mentor new surgical techs during complex procedures.
• Assist the proceduralist and team with intra-operative care.
• Lead planning and implementation of procedures while ensuring aseptic technique.
• Uphold patient safety and align with AORN/AST standards.
