OhioHealth is seeking a Lead Surgical Technologist to prepare the room and gather supplies for procedures, deliver instruments intra operatively, and support the surgical team as a second assistant. The role involves decontamination, case card development, and mentoring new associates within a fast-paced OR environment.

The position requires an Associate’s Degree in Surgical Technology and BLS certification, with a 40-hour work week in the Surgery Main department.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree: Surgical Technology
• BLS - Basic Life Support - American Heart Association

Responsabilités

• Prepares for surgical cases by obtaining and preparing appropriate supplies, equipment and instruments, reviews surgeon’s preferences to determine required items.
• Establishes and maintains a sterile field and presents instruments to the operating team.
• Delivers appropriate instruments/supplies utilizing proper principles of sterile technique.
• Acts as 2nd assistant to surgeon, performing duties related to draping, operative site exposure.
• Responsible for removal of all sharps and initials return card for verification.
• Functions as 2nd circulator with RN supervision.
