Job summary

UCI Health seeks a Sr. Surgical Tech to join the operating room team in Irvine, CA. The role involves assisting with surgical procedures, ensuring a safe environment, and maintaining sterile technique. You will prepare and stock the OR and help orient new staff in a fast-paced academic medical setting.

Applicants may qualify as Surgical Techs with two years of experience or as Sr. Surgical Techs with more experience, with pay ranges provided. Strong English communication and BLS are required.

Qualifications

• Two years of demonstrated surgical technologist experience in multiple specialties in an acute care facility.
• Successful completion of an accredited course in surgical technology
• BLS Required
• Ability to work variable shifts including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English, and understanding of medical terminology

Responsibilities

• Assist with direct patient care activities during medical procedures.
• Ensure the environment is safe and equipment functions properly.
• Prepare and stock the OR before and after surgery with clean and sterile supplies.
• Set sterile instrument fields and maintain aseptic techniques.
• Assist with orientation of new staff and participate on departmental committees
