Job summary

Providence St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton, CA is seeking a Senior Surgical Technician for full‑time day shift. The role supports the surgical team by maintaining sterile fields and assisting with instrument handling under the guidance of a Registered Nurse Circulator.

The position requires a formal OR tech training, NSCT certification, BLS, and at least 3 years of surgical/OR experience; preferred candidates may have preceptor experience and more extensive surgical expertise.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a surgical/OR Tech training program.
• Successful completion and maintenance of preceptor requirements.
• Upon hire: National Certified Surgical Technologist - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
• 3 years of Surgical/OR Tech experience.

Responsibilities

• Maintains the operating room sterile field and passes instruments, sutures and sponges during surgery under the RN Circulator.
• Ensures proper sterile technique to prevent contamination and infection.
• Assists the registered nurse with circulating duties.
• Acts as a mentor and resource to the surgical team.
