Job summary

Providence Portland Medical Center is seeking a Senior Surgical Tech for a full-time Day shift (0640-1715) with 4, 10-hour shifts and rotating weekends, holidays, and call. Eligible external hires may receive an $8,000 bonus.

This non-licensed role supports the RN during surgeries, prepares instruments, and assists intra-operatively. The position offers comprehensive benefits including parking, transit pass eligibility, tuition reimbursement, paid time off, retirement plans, and caregiver

Qualifications

• Successfully completed training as a surgical technician at an accredited school.
• Upon hire: National Certified Surgical Technologist - National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting
• Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
• 3 years Experience as a Surgical Technician in Operating Room.

Responsibilities

• Review preference lists and select supplies and instruments for procedures.
• Perform a surgical scrub and prepare the back table with sterile instrumentation and supplies.
• Provide intra-operative support by anticipating the surgeon's needs and passing instruments during the case.
• Complete the cycle by taking instruments to decontamination and putting away leftovers and equipment.
• Ensure proper handling and cleanliness of supplies after procedures.
