Job summary

Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center in Texas seeks a Surgical Technologist to prepare the OR, assist the surgical team, and maintain sterility for a range of procedures.

Qualifications

  • / Must have 3+ years as a Surgical Technologist in an acute care hospital.
  • / Certified Surgical Technologist or equivalent credential.
  • / Basic Life Support - CPR within 14 days.

Responsibilities

  • Expert Scrub Role and Surgical Preparedness: anticipates surgeon needs, passes supplies, ensures sterile instruments.
  • Advanced Instrumentation and Equipment Management: handles varied surgical equipment and instruments; communicates with Biomedical Services.
  • Cost-Conscious Supply Management: balances cost containment with quality of care.
  • Sterile Field Maintenance and Safety: maintains a meticulously sterile field and aseptic technique.
  • Patient Support: assists in transferring/positioning patients and prepping incision sites.
  • Process Improvement & In-service Coordination: coordinates equipment in-services and improves departmental processes.
