Job summary

Mount Sinai Medical Center of Florida, Inc. is seeking an Experienced Surgical Step Down RN to join our Miami Beach unit. The role emphasizes continuous patient assessment, telemetry monitoring, and rapid response to clinical changes in a high-acuity surgical population.

The position requires current Florida nursing licensure and BLS, with ACLS preferred. You will work in a collaborative, patient-centered environment within a large not-for-profit hospital network known for clinical excellence.

Qualifications

• Current FL Nursing License.
• Current BLS certification.
• ACLS certification optional or required as per hospital policy.

Responsibilities

• Maintains annual clinical competence in care of surgical patients and telemetry monitored patients.
• Assesses clinical and diagnostic data of the surgical population served.
• Administers medications and monitors patient responses per policy.
• Performs pre-operative and post-operative care and education for surgical patients.
• Documents patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes each shift.
• Provides patient and family teaching regarding procedures and aftercare.
• Ensures adherence to infection control and safety protocols.
