Job summary

HonorHealth is seeking a SR Scheduler‑Surgical at Sonoran Medical Office in Phoenix, AZ. You will be the first point of contact and schedule surgeries and high-level procedures, coordinate operating rooms, and prepare patients for preoperative steps.

You will gather demographic, medical and financial information, verify insurance, and ensure accurate charging and documentation while providing excellent customer service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in related healthcare field preferred; medical terminology specialization in operating room/central supply preferred.
• 1 year of related experience in healthcare scheduling/clerical with ICD10, CPT coding and knowledge of health care plan requirements required.
• 2 years experience as a scheduler in the healthcare field preferred.
• May require completion of medical terminology class within 6 months of hire (180 days).

Responsibilities

• Schedules surgeries and high level procedures according to physician privileges and scheduling requirements.
• Gathers and verifies patient data and insurance information.
• Coordinate operating room and anesthesia scheduling and preoperative classes/testing where applicable.
• Register patients and initiate medical records and pre-registration accounts 24–48 hours prior to admission.
• Ensure accurate charging, regulatory compliance and timely documentation across departments.
