Job summary

UCI Health is seeking an AP Surgical Pathology Laboratory Supervisor to oversee the Gross Room Department, ensuring accurate, timely, and safe processing of surgical pathology specimens. You will supervise staff, implement QC programs, and support pathologists and assistants to maintain diagnostic excellence.

The role requires five years in a surgical pathology grossing environment, ASCP certification, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of relevant experience in a surgical pathology grossing environment as lead.
• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
• Bachelor's degree in a biological science or related field.
• Must be ASCP certified.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the Gross Room Department and supervise staff.
• Develop and implement quality control programs for testing procedures.
• Prepare and maintain applicable records; establish instrument procedures.
• Assist in instrument troubleshooting and some technical aspects.
