Job summary

UCI Health in Orange, CA is seeking an AP Surgical Pathology Laboratory Supervisor to oversee the Gross Room, supervise staff, and ensure accurate, timely processing of surgical specimens.

You will develop quality control programs, maintain instrument procedures, assist in troubleshooting, and support pathologists and assistants. The role requires five years lead experience and ASCP certification, plus strong communication and Excel/Outlook/Word skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in biological science or related field.
Minimum five years of lead experience in a surgical pathology grossing environment.
ASCP certification required.
Strong English communication skills.

Responsibilities

Oversee Gross Room Department operations and supervise staff.
Ensure accurate, timely, and safe processing of surgical pathology specimens.
Develop and implement quality control programs for testing procedures.
Maintain records and instrument procedures; assist in troubleshooting.
Assist in some technical aspects as needed.
