Job summary

Magnolia Oil & Gas Corporation seeks a Surface Landman in Texas to support surface land and planning efforts across field operations. The role requires balancing independent work with collaboration within the Land team and other disciplines, while staying organized and detail-oriented.

You will handle surface agreements, permits, payments, and landowner communications, coordinating with field teams to ensure timely access and compliant operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; preferred in Land Management, Energy Management, Business, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience as an oil & gas Landman.
• Direct surface land experience in Texas.
• Experience securing surface use agreements, rights-of-way, permits, and water use agreements.
• RL/RPL or CPL certification is preferred; AAPL member is preferred.
• Knowledge of P2Land and Zendesk is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Secure and manage surface-related agreements for field operations.
• Administer surface-related payments to landowners.
• Secure permits for surface locations and related activities.
• Represent Magnolia in landowner communications and resolve issues.
• Coordinate with internal teams for landowner notifications, access, and repairs.
• Support drilling, completion, production, and facility ops by securing access and coordinating landowner communications.
• Assist with surface planning, site identification, and staking processes.
• Plan and route water transfers; ensure compliance with water use agreements.
• Coordinate with surveyors, contractors, and vendors for surface infrastructure.
• Provide coverage for surface land and planning responsibilities as needed.
