Job summary

UFG Insurance seeks an Executive Surety Underwriter to build and maintain a profitable mix of new and existing surety business. The role requires strong analytical skills to underwrite complex submissions and develop agency relationships across North and South Carolina, with remote work flexibility.

The candidate will travel up to 20% for agency visits and contract account reviews, with a base salary range disclosed and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or combination of education and surety experience.
• Bachelor's degree in business administration, economics, finance or accounting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Instruct, assign, and review work and projects completed by SSA's, UWA's and others.
• Coaching, mentoring, and training of all team members.
• Underwrite complex submissions independently and review accounts that exceed authority.
• Develop and maintain relationships with agents/brokers and oversee a book of contract surety business.
• Meet production, marketing, and profitability goals and develop territory marketing plans.
