Job summary

SBM Life Science in Cary, NC is seeking a skilled Supply Planner to coordinate production schedules, manage materials, and maintain inventory accuracy across contract manufacturers and internal teams. You will translate master plans into weekly production plans, monitor capacity, and resolve shortages to keep operations on track.

You will work in a collaborative environment, implement improvements, and drive supply chain efficiency while balancing priorities and meeting on-time delivery goals

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in supply planning, production planning, or materials management within a manufacturing environment.
• Hands‑on experience with production scheduling, purchasing, inventory management, and material requirements planning (MRP).
• Proficiency with ERP systems, including manufacturing and inventory transactions.
• Strong Excel skills, including data analysis and scenario modeling.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills.
• A proactive approach, strong attention to detail, and the ability to take ownership of priorities and deliver results.

Responsibilities

• Plan & Schedule Production: Translate master production plans into weekly manufacturing schedules, balancing demand forecasts, inventory targets, material availability, and production capacity.
• Partner with Contract Manufacturers: Coordinate production schedules, secure manufacturing capacity, monitor commitments, and adjust plans as business needs change.
• Keep Materials Moving: Plan raw material and component requirements, issue purchase orders, monitor supplier deliveries, and proactively resolve shortages to keep production on track.
• Support Manufacturing Execution: Manage ERP production transactions, including work orders, completed production, and raw material and component consumption.
• Maintain Inventory Accuracy: Monitor raw material and finished goods inventory, investigate discrepancies, and coordinate reconciliations across assigned production locations.
• Optimize Supply & Inventory: Analyze production timing, capacity, inventory levels, and working capital requirements to identify opportunities for improved efficiency.
• Drive Continuous Improvement: Monitor key planning and operational performance measures, identify challenges, and propose improvements to strengthen supply chain performance.
