Job summary

Afton Scientific, a Virginia-based contract manufacturing organization, seeks a Senior Buyer Planner to lead procurement, planning, and management of raw materials and packaging for manufacturing operations. You will drive supplier relationships, forecasting, and inventory strategies to ensure uninterrupted production and regulatory compliance.

The role requires strong negotiation skills, ERP experience, and a proactive problem-solving mindset in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree required; 5+ years in purchasing, material planning, or vendor management acceptable in lieu of degree.
• Experience with inventory management and supplier performance.
• Experience procuring materials and working with ERP/SAP.
• Strong MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Knowledge of cGMP environments is a plus; production planning experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Obtain competitive quotes and procure materials for manufacturing and project needs.
• Manage supplier relationships and monitor delivery performance.
• Oversee raw material inventory, in-transit material, and consignment inventory.
