Job summary

JERA Americas seeks a Senior Supply Chain Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership across sourcing, procurement, contract management, supplier performance, logistics, and risk for power and energy assets. You will drive high-value sourcing initiatives and governance with cross-functional teams.

You will lead supplier relationships, develop category strategies, and oversee contract terms, performance metrics, and risk mitigation to deliver cost, schedule, quality, and resilience

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field; 10+ years progressive experience in procurement/strategic sourcing/contract management.
  • Experience leading complex, high-value sourcing initiatives for power generation, renewables, data centers or heavy industrial facilities.
  • Proven negotiation, supplier performance management, and risk mitigation skills with cross-functional leadership.

Summary

The Senior Supply Chain Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for sourcing, procurement, contract management, supplier performance, logistics, and supply-chain risk across thermal power generation, renewable energy, energy storage, data center infrastructure, plant operations, and corporate spend. The role leads complex, high-value sourcing and contracting initiatives; establishes category and supplier strategies; and serves as a senior commercial advisor to project and functional leaders. This position is accountable for delivering cost, schedule, quality, compliance, and resilience outcomes while strengthening procurement governance, team capability, and supplier partnerships.

Position Description
Supply Chain Strategy & Leadership
  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies for thermal generation, renewable energy, data center infrastructure, and indirect spend categories.
  • Lead competitive sourcing events including RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, and commercial negotiations.
  • Conduct market analyses, supplier benchmarking, should-cost modeling, and total cost of ownership evaluations.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, supplier consolidation, and operational efficiency improvements.
  • Develop category strategies for major equipment, EPC services, MRO materials, professional services, IT, facilities, and corporate services.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and quality oversight to supply chain team members and cross-functional sourcing teams; establish clear objectives and accountability.
  • Drive continuous improvement, standardization, and digital enablement across sourcing, contracting, supplier management, and reporting processes.
Project Procurement & Capital Projects
  • Lead procurement planning and execution for development, construction, commissioning, and operating-asset requirements across power generation, renewables, storage, data centers, and infrastructure projects.
  • Develop contracting and procurement strategies, bid lists, procurement schedules, responsibility matrices, and award recommendations aligned with project stage gates and budgets.
  • Lead sourcing and commercial management of long-lead and critical equipment, including turbines, generators, transformers, switchgear, BESS, electrical systems, controls, and balance-of-plant packages.
  • Monitor supplier manufacturing, expediting, logistics, and delivery performance.

Supplier Relationship Management
  • Establish and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers and contractors.
  • Implement supplier performance scorecards, KPIs, quarterly business reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead supplier qualification, onboarding, risk assessments, and governance activities.
  • Support supplier diversity, sustainability, and business continuity initiatives.
Contract Management & Commercial Negotiations
  • Lead negotiation of pricing, scope, schedule, milestones, payment terms, warranties, performance guarantees, liquidated damages, liability, indemnities, insurance, change control, and termination rights.
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, Insurance, Tax, Engineering, and project leadership to ensure balanced risk allocation and executable contract terms.
  • Establish post-award contract management plans and oversee compliance, correspondence, amendments, change orders, claims avoidance, dispute support, renewals, and closeout.
  • Provide senior-level commercial guidance and ensure one coordinated company position in supplier and contractor engagements.
Qualifications
Risk Management & Compliance
  • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks affecting cost, schedule, quality, and operational reliability.
  • Develop contingency plans for critical suppliers and equipment shortages.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, environmental, and corporate governance requirements.
  • Monitor geopolitical, market, and commodity trends impacting supply strategies.
Stakeholder Management
  • Partner with Engineering, Operations, Asset Management, Finance, Legal, IT, and Project Development teams.
  • Provide procurement leadership and commercial guidance during project planning and execution.
  • Present sourcing strategies, savings opportunities, and risk assessments to senior leadership.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning activities.
Required Education & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, Finance, Construction Management, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, contract management, category management, or project supply chain, including leadership of complex, high-value sourcing and contracting initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting power generation, renewable energy, energy storage, data centers, heavy industrial facilities, infrastructure, or comparable large capital projects.
Qualifications Continued
  • Strong record of negotiating equipment supply, EPC, construction, professional services, maintenance, and/or long-term service agreements.
  • Experience with supplier performance management, contract administration, change management, claims avoidance, and supply-chain risk mitigation.
  • Proficiency with SAP and Ariba CLM, SLP experience strongly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Professional certification such as CPSM, CSCP, CPIM, CIPS, PMP, or equivalent.
  • Experience managing or mentoring procurement professionals and leading cross-functional teams in a matrixed, international environment.
  • Working knowledge of project controls, cost estimating, logistics, supplier quality, equipment manufacturing, and construction interfaces.
