Job summary

ESS, Inc. seeks a Supplier Quality Representative to travel to supplier and vendor shops in the Central Texas Iron Works area to verify material and workmanship meet procurement requirements.

The role involves in-person surveillance, document review, and reporting to ensure conformance to codes and standards. The SQR will review drawings, specs, inspection/test plans, and supplier docs, identify nonconformances, and collaborate on timely dispositions.

Qualifications

• Prefer candidates with at least 4–5 years of QA/QC, supplier quality, or shop-surveillance experience.
• Structural Steel Fabrication and coating experience is strongly preferred (CWI).
• Must have structural steel experience and be able to review drawings, specs, PO requirements, and test/inspection records, identifying nonconformances.

Responsibilities

• Represents the company as the supplier’s primary contact and conducts quality surveillance per the assignment scope.
• Verify supplier-furnished material and equipment meets procurement document requirements.
• Collaborate with supplier and project quality personnel to disposition nonconformances and release conforming material.
• Maintain records and provide surveillance reports; support remote surveillance tools when appropriate.
• Review documentation such as material tests, heat records, NDE reports, and coating records for conformance.
