Job summary

Leonardo DRS Naval Electronics is seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Engineer in a hybrid environment (Johnstown, PA or Largo, FL). You will drive supplier quality strategies and ensure compliance with military standards while leading continuous improvement initiatives across programs and manufacturing environments.

The role requires 5+ years in defense electronics, ISO/Six Sigma expertise, and the ability to work with suppliers on corrective actions, audits, and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field; 5+ years in defense electronics manufacturing preferred.
• ASQ certification or Black Belt preferred; ISO standards, Six Sigma tools, statistics knowledge.
• Able to read military specifications and blueprints; travel 10-25% as needed.
• Proficient interpersonal, negotiation, communication and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Act as Project Manager for resolving supplier-caused issues and liaison to DRS stakeholders.
• Lead on-site supplier engagements, performance reviews, audits and surveillances.
• Conduct process/product audits, capacity assessments and ensure supplier compliance.
• Evaluate disposition of non-conforming materials and lead root cause analysis/corrective actions.
• Initiate and manage Supplier Corrective Action Plans with objective evidence for closure.
• Monitor and improve supplier performance through data analysis and CI initiatives.
• Provide technical support for assembly/test/inspection, including sampling plans.
• Represent the company professionally in supplier/customer engagements.
• Drive supplier continuous improvement with cross-functional teams.
• Analyze data to identify and mitigate supplier quality risks.
