Job summary

Watlow in St. Louis, MO is seeking a Senior Engineer – Supplier Quality Engineering to ensure manufacturing readiness and supplier performance across a global base.

You will link, evaluate, and continuously manage supplier performance under the Supplier Quality Engineering Manager. You’ll drive readiness for new product releases, lead audits, deploy requirements, and manage corrective actions while interfacing with customers and Watlow teams.

Qualifications

• B.S. degree in engineering, manufacturing, or applicable technical discipline.
• Five (5) years in a Supplier Quality, Quality Assurance, or Supply Chain role.
• Five (5) years in an engineering/design or manufacturing/process role.
• Knowledge of registered AS9100; ISO9001:2015 and IATF 16949 a plus.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 50%.
• Auditing experience – quality management system elements, process audits, etc.
• Expertise in applying 8D, PPAP, APQP, Control Plans, and other quality tools.
• Expertise in root cause corrective action tools.
• Ability to lead and communicate with all supplier levels.
• Ability to represent supplier quality during customer audits and project work.

Responsibilities

• Support NPD, Global Footprint, and Supply Chain projects to evaluate/audit new Watlow suppliers.
• Lead supplier readiness/improvement work with new and existing suppliers for new product releases and transitions.
• Lead supplier evaluation/audits of current and new Watlow suppliers.
• Deploy Watlow requirements to suppliers, identify gaps, and drive capability improvements.
• Use supplier performance data and sourcing strategies to target improvements.
• Ensure suppliers understand Watlow’s change control requirements with annual training and audits.
• Lead major/escalated supplier corrective action with 8D and Watlow actions.
